Similar to MREs, these meals are ready to eat and easy to prepare — no cooking is required. They are completely precooked, self-contained foods that are shelf stable and require no refrigeration, just heat and serve.

Ready to eat entrees are an extremely popular emergency preparedness food because they are convenient, easy to pack and store, and provide an excellent source of nutrition and energy whenever you need it.
