Military MRE Tray Pack, White Rice, Ready to Eat

    SKU: TP114
    Price: $9.95
    Quantity:
MRE Tray Packs are used by the US military for field kitchen applications when feeding large groups of combat and support soldiers. They are packed in large, shelf-stable, flexible and sturdy poly trays. Each tray contains up to 7.5 pounds of fully cooked, ready to eat food. Most Tray Pack menu items feed 18+ people per Tray.

MRE tray packs are ideally suited to feeding larger groups and families. Each tray measures 10" x 12 1/2" x 2 1/2". The trays are built to be stacked, making them ideal for food storage closets, cupboards, pantries, and tight spaces.

And when you are ready to eat, you can even warm your food right in the tray. Great for Scouts and camping trips, as well as emergency use! These MRE Entrée’s and Side Dishes taste best when eaten within 10 years (same shelf life as a regular MRE pouch), but under the ideal storage conditions (cool, no sunlight, etc.) they can last even longer. This item is for a single tray.

Tray Packs are designed to fit 2 units side-by-side in a standard steam tray opening. The Tray Packs serve as the heating and serving containers, you just peel the top off when ready to serve. The Tray Pack containers are thrown away after use, saving you from having to clean the normal pots and pans used in food service applications.

Although they can be eaten cold since they are fully cooked, they are great when you take the time and effort to heat them. There are many ways to heat Tray Packs in addition to using a steam tray (which most of us don’t have;-)

    1. Place the unopened tray in warm water for 20-30 minutes,
    2. Puncture the lid and slowly heat in an oven (or microwave if you have access to one)
    3. Transfer the contents to a pot or pan and heat over a stove or campfire, or fireplace.
    4. Tray pack can be left in direct sunlight to absorb warmth.
