Authentic Bourbon Whiskey Infused Oak Chips are aged in charred white oak barrels. During the aging process, the bourbon is drawn in and out of the wood giving it its distinctive color and flavor. The hand-selected Bourbon barrels that we use are skillfully recycled in house into smoker chips to ensure uniform smoking consistency with the uniquely distinctive flavor of Real Bourbon. Good smoke is produced by a variety of woods, especially hard woods that are low in resin and high in flavor - add Bourbon to the mix, and you have a winning recipe no matter what is on the menu. Smoking your food on a BBQ is also a very good way to add flavor without calories.
How to Use Them?
Simply fill smoker tray with a handful of your BBQ Smoking Chips. Do not soak the chips prior to putting them in the tray - use them right out of the packaging. Place the smoker tray directly on the top of the cooking grid over the hottest burner area to activate the smoldering process. If your tray doesnâ€™t have a lid, you may want to use a double layer of foil as a lid to allow your chips to smolder slowly. If so, place six to eight holes in the foil to allow the smoke to escape. Wait until the chips are smoking before you place food on grill. Move the tray to one corner to make room. Keep grill lid closed for maximum flavor enhancement and when cooking for an extended period of time, be sure to have an additional tray ready so that you can get it smoking before the first one stops. Remember that your tray will be as hot as your grill grates, so always use tongs or gloves when moving a smoker tray.
